The participants for the 2021 Dresner Data Pipelines and Integration survey provide a cross-section of responses across geographies, functions, organization sizes, and vertical industries. We constructed cross-tab analyses using the survey data to identify and illustrate important industry preferences, priorities, and trends.
Data pipelining and integration is a top priority when compared to other BI technologies and initiatives. However, data pipelining and integration remain in the domain of technologists rather than business users. Sixty percent of survey respondents are from IT and BICC functions and the balance are from business functions (e.g., Executive Management, Finance, Operations, Sales and Marketing, etc.).
