Identifying Vulnerabilities in the Attack Surfaces of Canadian Organizations

Results from a recent IDC survey indicate that Canadian organizations are most concerned with human-driven security threats (whether malicious or not), stemming from an outdated client-serverera mindset. Today, 24% of corporate data is stored in web applications and public cloud environments, yet in terms of business impact, we view a mishandled or stolen portable drive as being more detrimental than a data breach in the cloud.

End-user security should always be a top concern for organizations. But as they continue to digitally transform and distribute data beyond the safe confines of the datacentre, organizations need to rethink where they are making cybersecurity investments and if those investments align with how and where their sensitive data is being stored.

In this IDC InfoBrief, commissioned by HPE and Sudden Technologies, we will discuss how attack surfaces are evolving in a post-COVID-19 world and highlight the major vulnerabilities that Canadian organizations continue to overlook.
