Effective Ransomware Response Requires Coordination Between I&O And Security

Backups, While Necessary, Are Only One Piece Of A Larger Response Plan 

Defending your company against ransomware is more complex than vendors suggest. Data resilience vendors have made numerous claims about their ability to stop ransomware; security vendors also position their products as the “silver bullets” that will defeat ransomware and other cyberthreats. In reality, cyberthreat protection requires a multifaceted strategy with tight collaboration between infrastructure and operations (I&O) and security pros. Tech leaders must address all five parts of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) framework. In this report, we outline how I&O and security pros can work together to defend against ransomware.
